Delving Deeper into Weak Two Opening Bids
Managing the risks of weak two openings and investigating whether your partnership can reach game.
About the seminar
This seminar is aimed at partnerships looking to both minimise the risks associated with weak two-level openings and to understand how best to investigate game after partner opens a weak two.
The session will look at how responder can investigate whether a major-suit game is possible after partner opens Weak 2♥ or 2♠, and whether the partnership can reach 3NT after a Weak 2♦ opening.
Do you know what’s needed for a weak two opening? Do you know how to respond? Do you consider vulnerability? The seminar will explore these questions and help partnerships develop a clearer, more confident approach to the auctions that follow.
What we’ll look at
Investigating a major-suit game
Following a Weak 2♥ or 2♠ opening, how responder can assess whether the partnership has the potential to reach game in partner’s major suit.
Investigating 3NT
Following a Weak 2♦ opening, how responder can investigate whether the partnership has the potential to play in 3NT.
