Classes

Classes are held at the Bridge Club to introduce potential players to the game, and to improve the ability of existing players. The Club has adopted the Scottish Bridge Union syllabus and teachers are qualified by the SBU.

Separate courses are available for Beginners and Improvers. Beginners classes are held in 10 week blocks, starting in September, January, and March.  The 2011/12 session begins on Monday 12th of September.

A full 10 week course costs £50 but, for those unable to attend the whole course, lessons , by prior arrangement with the teacher, may be followed on a "Pick & Mix" basis.    We would, however, advise that benefit is gained by being present at most of the lessons although every endeavour will be made to accommodate those learners who cannot come every week.

Those who complete the beginners and the second year improvers courses are encouraged to start playing in the summer months after three terms. They may then progress to Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and later to enter Monday and Wednesday tournaments during the winter.
All beginners and second year improvers may compete in the National Hugh Kelsey competition where pairs compete against every other beginner and improver in Scotland.

Hugh Kelsey was a legendary Scottish International player and author of many books about Bridge.

One is never too young or too old to begin playing Bridge, it is an extremely sociable game which keeps the mind active and you will find a warm welcome here  at Aberdeen Bridge Club.

Please leave a message on Aberdeen Bridge Club answering machine for Mrs. L. Findlay (Education Officer) who will give you further advice. Alternatively, you can email by clicking here .
